Does it come with a lid?

The Krýo tub comes complete with a Military Grade Drop Stitch Inflatable Cover that buckles onto the tub itself.
How long does It keep the water cold?
The Krýo Tub is insulated on all sides by a 3 inch rock hard wall maintaining ice cold temperatures for hours.
If you choose to deploy your tub outside, we recommend setting it up under shade and protecting it of harsh external environments to maximize the passive overnight cooling effects and keep your tub protected. Add ice or ice blocks as needed.
How much ice do I need to add to my tub?
The simple answer to this is to aim to get the water below 15 degrees celsius as that is where the benefits are.
In most countries, cold tap water is around 10-12 degrees celsius so it is cold enough to be effective.
Adding ice to this will further reduce the temperature by 3-7 degrees depending on how much ice you use.
If you are plunging during a season that is experiencing colder weather (15 °C or less) the external environment alone will keep your water cold enough to experience benefits with no ice needed at all.
How do I keep the water clean?
To maintain pristine water in your Krýo Tub, adhere to a few simple practices.
- Always cover the tub with its lid when not in use to prevent any debris from entering.
- Change the water weekly without using additives to preserve its quality.
- When draining the water, prolong the cleanliness of your next fill by washing the inside surfaces with warm soapy water.
- In sub-zero climates where weekly draining and refilling may not be practical, follow our Daily Maintenance Routine for our Pods, but apply it to the tub! By removing ice daily and topping up water levels every 1-2 days, you ensure a consistent turnover of fresh water every 7-10 days, maintaining a consistently clean and invigorating cold plunge experience.
Will the water inside the tub freeze in minus temperatures?
In sub-zero temperatures, thin layers of water inside the tub may freeze over night. To prevent a solid freeze, it's essential to prioritize daily maintenance. Just like anything left outdoors for extended periods, without proper care, it will freeze. Follow our user-friendly daily maintenance guide that we have made for our pods (same applies for the tub) and apply common sense to keep your Krýo Tub in optimal condition, ensuring a consistent and enjoyable cold plunge experience.
Can I set up my Krýo Tub indoors?
Absolutely! The Krýo Tub is designed to be set up indoors for your convenience. It's crucial to position it near a drain to facilitate water drainage efficiently. Ensure you have easy access to a suitable connector within hose reach. You can connect your tub to various indoor water sources using adaptors. Consider options like kitchen taps, washing machine outlets, bathroom fixtures, or outdoor spigots with available adaptors. Again, the folks at Team Krýo have nailed it!
I had originally purchased their Pod in December and after quickly becoming part of my morning routine and after my runs, I took the plunge and bought their tub.
I was more than happy with the pod, but the additional room is so nice. Being able to stretch out fully makes the plunging experience much more comfortable.
The blue floor is also quite inviting as I have been doing most of my plunges before the sun comes up.
The pump makes short work of inflating the tub and lid. I was concerned of it being similar to the pump with stand up paddle boards and take half a day to inflate, but it was set up in 5 minutes.
The pump also acts as a deflater/vacuum to help pack the tub away in to the included carry bag. The bag is also more than large enough to hold every thing, so I have no worries of stressing the zippers when I pick it up. If I ever pack it up! The pod will be my travel plunge. They also included a few straps to hold it all together once folded to be packed away.
I used a 2nd buckle to hold the lid up when in use instead of removing it each time. Not necessary, just preference.
It was -12⁰C the day I set it up and quickly formed a layer of ice. It has since been in positive temperatures with a few days in the double digits and the water temperature had remained in the 0-2⁰C range until today, 1 week later. Today the water temperature reached 4⁰C. So it seems to be fairly well insulated and will be paired well with a chiller, once needed.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the Krýo tub and would definitely recommend it to any one looking to invest in themselves!
